About the role:
In this role, the Pregnancy Care Connect Coordinator is the conduit between maternity services and the community within the northern sector of Hunter New England’s LHD. On any given day, you will be connecting vulnerable women to pregnancy care providers, overseeing maternal transfers within our district, and engaging with women who find it difficult to connect with maternity services. We’re looking for an experienced leader with a high level of communication and problem-solving skills, with compassion for vulnerable women and the complexity of pregnancy care they require during what can often be a challenging time in their lives. If this sounds like you, look no further – your dream role awaits!
You won’t be working alone. You will be working with a small, diverse team of maternity experts who oversee the safety and quality of maternity services across our district. The team itself is very collaborative, regularly coming together for huddle meetings and team planning days occurring multiple times per year. The successful applicant will be supported by the WHAM Network Coordinator and Midwifery Advisor, as well as being given a thorough orientation program. You will also work alongside your Newcastle-based equivalent who manages the southern parts of our LHD, as well as other coordinators across the state. Regular Monthly Accountability Meetings (MAM’s), 90-day action plans and roundings will allow you to feel supported as you grow within the position.
Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
- Minimum of three (3) years full time equivalent post midwifery qualification experience.
