John Hunter Hospital is a leading healthcare and innovation hub serving the Hunter New England Local Health District. Our Surgical Services Department supports 15 operating theatres, 11 wards, and 14 specialty departments, delivering high-quality surgical care to patients across the region.
The Role:
Join our dynamic Day of Surgery Unit team, where you will play a vital role as the frontline point of contact for patients and visitors. This fast-paced environment requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide outstanding customer service as the primary point of contact via telephone, email, and in-person interactions, ensuring professionalism and courtesy at all times.
Deliver administrative support to the Same Day/Day of Surgery team, assisting with daily operations.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff at all levels to support team and organizational goals.
Adapt to shifting priorities and work both independently and collaboratively as needed.
Utilize electronic systems and computer software proficiently to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
Prioritize workload effectively, maintaining a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
About You
Adaptable and comfortable managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Proficient in electronic systems and computer software, ensuring accurate and efficient task completion.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
Detail-oriented and responsible, maintaining high accuracy in all tasks.
Eager to engage in comprehensive induction and training programs, including face-to-face and online learning.
