About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse or Nurse Manager looking to further advance their leadership and management skills, whilst working in a highly supportive environment. In this role, the After-Hours Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall management of staff, patients and the facility. On any given day, you will be coordinating patient flow, assessing critical situations, initiating contingency plans and allocating beds according to clinical priority and time-related KPI’s. 

You won’t be working alone. You will be supported by a dedicated Director of Nursing and Midwifery as well as the Deputy Director of Nursing. Supernumery orientation shifts will be provided to the successful candidate. 

As our new After-Hours Nurse Manager, You Will:

  • Hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Deliver quality, efficient and effective person-centred care which meets the needs of the patients and their families or carers.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations and the changing status of patients.
  • Have a solid understanding of evidence informed practice and critical thinking.
  • Have great time management skills
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and have a focus developing key relationships in a multidisciplinary team.

Armidale Rural Referral Hospital Armidale Hospital is a 99-bed facility providing a comprehensive range of services including acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics and a range of diagnostic and allied health services.

Armidale is the main hub of the New England High Country and one of Australia’s most elegant regional locations, known for its 19th-century churches and heritage architecture. A graceful city of tree-lined streets, Armidale is a five-and-a-half-hour drive from Sydney and less than 90 minutes from Tamworth, with daily flights between Sydney and Armidale taking under an hour. 

The area is surrounded by beautiful forests, mountain gorges, national parks, and waterfalls, including Wollomombi Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Australia.
