About the Role:
Belmont Hospital is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Administration Officer to join our Emergency Department team. This is a vital role providing 24/7 clerical support to a busy and high-functioning ED environment. As the first point of contact for many patients and families, you’ll help ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care, and contribute to the smooth daily operation of the department.
Your duties will include managing admissions and discharges, handling patient enquiries, data entry, and a variety of essential clerical functions. This position involves shift work across mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Where you'll be working:
Located by the water, Belmont Hospital is a community-based facility where collaboration is more than a buzzword - it’s the culture. Our staff often say it's a place where “everyone knows your name,” and each shift starts with genuine camaraderie and multidisciplinary teamwork.
You’ll be part of a well-supported team in a workplace that values both patient outcomes and professional growth. If you're looking for a role where you can learn, grow, and enjoy lifestyle perks by the lake, Belmont might just be your perfect fit.
What you'll need to succeed:
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a high-energy setting and brings:
- Composure under pressure - ED work is fast and unpredictable, and your ability to stay calm is key.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - You’ll be dealing with patients, families, and clinicians, often in emotional or high-pressure scenarios.
- Attention to detail and time management - Accuracy matters, especially in a 24/7 department where timing can be critical.
- If you can juggle competing priorities, keep a cool head, and work seamlessly in a team, we want to hear from you. While systems and processes can be taught, the ability to think on your feet and deliver compassionate, reliable service is non-negotiable.
We will support you to thrive:
At Belmont, we’re committed to helping our staff achieve their goals. You’ll be supported from day one with a comprehensive orientation, face-to-face and online training, and guidance from experienced administration professionals, including your Manager and peers.
We believe learning should be lifelong, and you’ll have access to ongoing professional development opportunities as part of a wider administration team that values collaboration, growth and excellence.
Additional Information:
- An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.
- Job share / part time arrangements will be considered.
- Casual opportunities may be available for recommended applicants
