Your role will include:

  • Face-to-face support for young parents and their families.
  • Providing support to rural and remote communities in a community-based setting and developing relationships and networks both within these communities and externally.
  • Co-facilitating a young parent support group in Muswellbrook.
  • Building strong networks with external agencies including housing, DCJ, DFV, maternity, and child & family health services.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary and interagency meetings, education sessions, and community engagement activities.



How we support you:
This position is directly line managed and supported by the Social Work Head of Discipline who is based at Muswellbrook. The applicant will also by supported in the role by the wider Social Work team and clinicians and the wider Young Parent Network in the Hunter New England Health. The applicant will receive extensive training and education opportunities both internally and externally, access to regular monthly supervision, monthly group supervision and monthly team meetings with the SW team. The applicant will also have access to support from the Singleton Young Parent Social Worker for guidance and support while orientating to the role.
