Are you passionate about supporting neonatal care in a dynamic hospital environment? We're seeking a reliable and proactive NICU Equipment & Support Assistant to join our dedicated team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This critical support role ensures that our clinical staff have the equipment and resources they need to provide exceptional care to our most vulnerable patients.

  • Clean, disinfect and maintain clinical equipment used in direct neonatal care.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of consumables and equipment in designated NICU areas.
  • Report equipment faults or breakages to the Equipment Officer, NUM or nurse in charge; tag and send faulty devices for repair via Biomed.
  • Prepare admission spaces and respiratory support devices for incoming neonatal patients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe NICU environment, assisting with cleaning clinical spaces during emergencies.
  • Support urgent deliveries and collections from pathology and pharmacy departments.
  • Assist in the safe transfer of infants to other departments such as Imaging or Operating Theatres, alongside ward staff and wardspersons.
  • Conduct front-line equipment maintenance and ensure all essential devices are ready and available for use.

 

About You:

  • Experience in hospital or healthcare cleaning.
  • Willing to train in specialised equipment maintenance.
  • Awareness of infection prevention and control protocols.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload.
  • Effective communication with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Willing to learn infant monitoring equipment.
  • Understanding of WH&S responsibilities.
  • Availability for rotating 7-day roster, including weekends.
