Remuneration: $58.95 - $60.86 per hour  
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

What you'll be doing 
As a Senior Speech Pathologist, you’ll provide high-quality clinical services across cardiology, respiratory, and cardiothoracic care. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring, governance, and service development.

  • Deliver evidence-based speech pathology interventions for adult patients

  • Supervise junior clinicians and students, fostering growth and excellence

  • Contribute to research, quality improvement, and health promotion initiatives

  • Represent the department in professional forums and assist with recruitment

  • Provide flexible services across facilities, including weekends and after-hours

How to Apply

  1. Current drivers licence valid within Australia

  2. Advanced competency demonstrated in the management of adults with swallowing disorders (including the provision of objective assessment) and communication impairments.

  3. Demonstrated and recent experience in a tertiary hospital working in the area of managing complex highly acute patients from (but not necessarily limited to) cardiology, cardiothoracic and respiratory specialties including patients within critical care settings

  4. Excellent communication, conflict resolution and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team

  5. Actively practices the principles of Evidence Based Practice and engages in professional development for relevant clinical areas with strong experience in quality management or research

  6. Prior experience in the provision of clinical supervision and training of staff and/or students and advanced time management and organisation skills

  7. An understanding of service co-ordination, evaluation, planning and development including a thorough understanding of patient flow and patient safety in the hospital setting

  8. Experience managing tracheostomised patients or a willingness to establish these skills
