About the Opportunity

Be part of a once-in-a-generation digital transformation in healthcare.
Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) will be the first in NSW to implement the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR), a major state-wide initiative consolidating multiple systems into one unified digital health record.

As a Change Lead, you’ll be at the heart of this exciting shift, shaping the future of how healthcare is delivered. This is your opportunity to drive clinical transformation, ensure frontline staff are ready for change, and support our services to realise the full benefits of this landmark program.

Join a dynamic, forward-thinking team and make a tangible impact on patient care across the district.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the change – Drive and embed change and adoption strategies aligned with the HNE Excellence framework.

  • Partner with stakeholders – Work closely with clinical teams (nursing, medical, allied health, pharmacy), ICT, and leadership to manage change across all levels of the organisation.

  • Coach and guide – Support executives and managers in their roles as change leaders, ensuring strong sponsorship, clear messaging, and staff engagement.

  • Enable go-live success – Plan and coordinate go-live support with supernumerary staff and superusers to ensure a seamless transition.

  • Support project delivery – Integrate change activities into project and implementation plans, working hand-in-hand with clinical working groups and committees.

  • Monitor impact – Lead benefits realisation activities, track progress against key initiatives, and provide regular performance updates to hospital networks.

  • Collaborate across NSW – Work with eHealth and other LHDs to broaden benchmarking and share learnings across the state.

Leadership Qualities We Value

You’re a confident change leader who thrives in complex environments and brings a calm, strategic presence to fast-paced projects. You’ll have:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or industry experience working in leadership roles with a significant element of clinical and service transformation.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale change initiatives, ideally in health, human services, or other complex organisations.

  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across disciplines and levels of seniority.

  • A sound understanding of healthcare systems, workflows, and clinical operations.

  • Proven ability to coach executives, managers, and frontline staff through change and transition.

  • Experience integrating change methodologies into project planning and execution.

  • A collaborative mindset, with a passion for improving healthcare outcomes through technology and innovation.

  • Eligibility to drive and willingness to travel when needed.
