Safe staffing levels will ensure patient care is delivered safely and effectively, with staff feeling supported to provide the best outcomes, maintain patient safety, and contribute to a positive and sustainable work environment.
In the Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse, you will be essential in providing high-quality, person-centred care that reflects the standards of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. You will follow the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) guidelines, working within a fast-paced setting. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure patients receive outstanding care during critical moments.
This role calls for a candidate with exceptional dedication and enthusiasm, thriving in high-pressure environments while consistently prioritising patient care. Your outstanding interpersonal skills will be essential in building positive, collaborative relationships, and adapting your communication style effectively for diverse audiences. Additionally, you will bring a compassionate approach to interactions with patients and their families or caregivers, providing the vital emotional support necessary in an emergency care setting
Effective time management and organisational skills are essential in this fast-paced role, as you will delegate care tasks to Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) according to their competencies and scopes of practice. Your dedication to providing high-quality nursing care will greatly enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Emergency Department.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
About you:
Preferred: Certification in Advanced Life Support, encompassing comprehensive skills and protocols for both paediatric and adult patient care.
Possessing Triage certification or actively working towards it to strengthen abilities in patient assessment, prioritisation, and decision-making under high-pressure scenarios. This certification reflects a commitment to accurately evaluating patient needs and ensuring timely, appropriate care in emergency settings.
It is essential that you have significant emergency experience, as this is crucial for effectively navigating high-pressure medical situations. This experience will allow you to demonstrate the skills necessary for rapid patient assessment, prioritisation of care and timely intervention, ultimately ensuring the best possible outcomes in urgent and critical circumstances.

This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
