Where you'll be working
A major expansion of imaging service hours at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital has created an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled Radiographer to join our dedicated team.
As the major centre of the New England region of NSW, Armidale is surrounded by some of Australia’s most productive farmland and spectacular National Parks. The city is also home to the University of New England and a range of excellent schools. Conveniently located halfway between Brisbane and Sydney, Armidale is well connected by road, rail, and air, and is just a two-hour drive from some of NSW’s best beaches.
What you'll be doing
The Imaging Department at Armidale Hospital provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging services to the Armidale community and the surrounding rural region. Radiographers enjoy a diverse and rewarding clinical experience, working with a wide variety of patient presentations, imaging challenges, and demonstrated pathologies - including significant road and rural trauma cases.
The department delivers high-quality services to inpatient and emergency patients, as well as a small number of outpatients, across a range of modalities including general radiography, CT, and ultrasound. With the expansion of services, staffed shifts now operate from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, seven days a week, supported by an after-hours on-call roster.
New employees will benefit from an extensive orientation program and will be supported to develop skills across both CT and general imaging. Ongoing professional education is encouraged and supported, with in-house learning opportunities and pathways for continuing professional development.
About you
The ability to work effectively and cohesively with a wide range of health professionals is essential to achieving positive outcomes for our patients. While experience in CT imaging is highly valued, this multi-position recruitment welcomes applications from radiographers of all experience levels, including new graduates.
To be successful in this rural hospital role, you will bring excellent communication skills, a friendly and approachable attitude, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. The ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team will be key to your success. Post-employment regrading may be available where appropriate skills and experience are demonstrated.
