What you’ll be doing
As a Pharmacy Technician in Cancer Services, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, accurate, and timely medications.

  • Dispense and distribute medications in line with hospital policies and legislation

  • Prepare sterile and non-sterile products according to master formulations

  • Support pharmaceutical production and quality assurance programs

  • Maintain compliance with safety and infection control standards

  • Participate in performance development and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: Applicants without a nationally recognised pharmacy qualification will be classified as Pharmacy Assistant Grade 1.
    Pharmacy Assistant Grade 2 - Certificate II or III in Community Pharmacy provided by Pharmacy Guild/PSA.
    Pharmacy Technician Grade 1 – Certificate III in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support. 
    Pharmacy Technician Grade 2 - Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated good communication skills.

  2. Demonstrated satisfactory pharmacy dispensing experience in Australia (or equivalent).

  3. Demonstrated ability to prioritise large workload and have good time management skills.

  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  5. Willing and able to participate in sterile (including cytotoxic) manufacturing.

  6. Must be willing and able to work late shifts and overtime on weekends as required.
