About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Perioperative Anaesthetic Registered Nurse with a passion for airway management and the care of critically vulnerable patients undergoing anaesthesia. The Perioperative Anaesthetic Registered Nurse will be conducting airway management and assessment throughout the preoperative phase all the way through to the patients post operative phase. This is a vital role in supporting the anaesthetist and ensuring patient safety during the administration of anaesthetic.

You will be provided with a thorough orientation process including supernumery days. You will be teamed with a Clinical Nurse Educator and our experienced team. You will become a part of the on-call service to ensure that our rural and surrounding community are provided surgical services.

A variety of education opportunities are available for ongoing development. This includes but is not limited to, simulation, online platforms, self-directed learning and a variety of in-servicing of a variety of specialities. Continual educational opportunities are facilitated and supported; we are also able to offer transition training in other perioperative roles.

Due to the unique rural location of Armidale operating theatres, we host a smaller close-knit community of colleagues which regularly participate in social events and pride ourselves on our collaborative teamwork.

The Armidale Rural Referral Hospital Operating Theatres provides surgical services for the Armidale region. The Operating Theatres also strive to improve knowledge and provide best practices in the care of critically unwell patients and children through medical and nursing research, unit-based educational programs, and advocacy for patients.
