Oral Health Therapist Level 1


Recent and new graduates expecting to be registered by early January 2026 are encouraged to apply. Positions will commence mid-January 2026 (or sooner by negotiation if you are currently registered). It is anticipated interviews will be held in September.

 

What you’ll do:
We want you to focus on providing the best quality dental care using your full scope of practice as an Oral Health Therapist. You’ll be part of a larger team across our district. Recent graduates participate in our graduate program. This includes clinical workshops, catch-ups, and observation clinics.

Who you’ll work with:
You can work in a variety of settings with other practitioners and dental assistants. We are a progressive organisation with a team of over 200 people. We are supported by a group of visiting specialists and offer opportunities to be involved in in-house CPD activities and workshops.

This position is part of the Rural Dental Graduate Partnership. In this partnership, you will have access to clinical support and educational opportunities across Hunter New England, Mid-North Coast, Northern NSW, and Western NSW Local Health Districts. Your remuneration:
BOH graduates normally commence as Year 2. In addition to a base salary of $76,056 (Year 2) - $85,800 (Year 4) per annum, 12% superannuation, and 17.5% leave loading are paid on your 4 weeks of annual leave. This amounts to a total package of at least $86,325. Further incentives can include Salary Packaging of $9,009 per annum and a Meal Entertainment Allowance of $2,650 per annum.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Oral Health Therapy (dually qualified in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy) recognised by the Dental Board of Australia and registration with the Dental Board of Australia as an Oral Health Therapist.
