Are you ready to take the next step in your mental health career while enjoying an incredible lifestyle? Join the Tablelands Mental Health Service, where you’ll be part of a passionate, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care to individuals with moderate to severe mental health needs.
Based in the beautiful regional city of Armidale in the Northern Tablelands, this role offers more than just a job - it offers a lifestyle. Picture yourself working in a supportive environment while living in a town known for its breathtaking autumn colours, charming tree-lined streets, and welcoming community.
In your downtime, enjoy alfresco dining, local arts and culture, and impressive heritage architecture. For nature lovers, the nearby World Heritage-listed national parks offer unforgettable bushwalks, gorges, and waterfalls—some of the most stunning landscapes in Australia.
Armidale is also a hub for education, with a respected university and excellent public and private schools - on par with any major Australian city.
About the role:
This unique role offers the best of both worlds: the opportunity to work primarily in community mental health practice, while also contributing your expertise to the local inpatient unit through consultation and support.
You’ll spend most of your time in the community, as part of a dedicated, collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes social workers, psychologists, nurses, and medical staff. Working closely with GPs and local organizations, you’ll deliver care to individuals and groups through mental health, functional, and psychosocial assessments, and coordinate treatment through in-person appointments, home visits, and outreach in the community.
In addition to your community work, you’ll support the Clark Centre - a short-stay, 8-bed mental health inpatient unit in Armidale by offering discipline-specific consultation. This includes conducting functional assessments, running therapeutic activities and group sessions, and helping shape effective discharge planning.
This is your chance to broaden your scope, grow professionally, and have a real impact on the continuum of care in a supportive, integrated mental health environment.
