Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Health Information team, supporting the efficient and effective management of health information services and resources. This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, ensuring the integrity of health record systems, and upholding compliance with accreditation standards and relevant legislation.
The successful candidate will oversee the secure storage and accurate identification of patient information, facilitate timely access to records to support continuity of care, and manage the release of information in line with privacy regulations and statutory requirements. The role also provides essential support for Activity Based Management (ABM) processes.

What you will bring to the role
- Tertiary qualifications in in Health Information Management as recognised by HIMAA and/or equivalent demonstrated experience, sound professional knowledge and understanding of clinical and business processes related to management of health information
- Experience in patient administration systems; clinical coding using ICD-10-AM along with experience in data collection, and report provision and analysis of patient data for performance reports, activity-based management and research.
- Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between health information management, clinical coding, casemix, DRG classification systems and Activity Based Funding/Management Models
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills with experience in the management and supervision of staff including, rostering, recruitment, performance management and leave management
- High level competence in preparing and writing document/reports preparation, including analysis of findings and development of recommendations
- Information technology literacy with proficiency in use of appropriate office software and experience in electronic medical records including iPM
- Current NSW drivers’ license and willingness to travel if required
