What you'll be doing
As Finance Manager, you will:

  • Deliver timely, accurate, and relevant financial information to facilitate effective management decision-making.
  • Provide professional advice on financial performance, budgets, forecasts, and business cases.
  • Provide accurate and timely budgeting, forecasting and cost data reports.
  • Identify opportunities for savings through workforce management, procurement, and improved business practices.
  • Lead and support Finance Managers across JHH, overseeing whole-of-hospital financial reporting and strategic development.
  • Manage the John Hunter Hospital Coding Unit Manager and provide professional direction across finance functions.
  • Actively contribute to the JHH Executive Team, supporting strategic planning and organisational development.
     


About you
To be successful, you will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional accounting membership (or working towards).
  • Demonstrated expertise in health policy, planning, and financial analysis.
  • Strong skills in activity and budget management, with the ability to simplify complex financial issues into actionable advice.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, frontline managers, and executives.
  • Experience analysing financial statements, managing variances, and delivering accurate projections.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems.
