About the Role
Maitland Hospital is seeking enthusiastic Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to join our dedicated nursing team in 5b. If you are passionate about patient-centred care and thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting, we’d love to hear from you!

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within our general and medical wards, where recent experience in similar settings is highly desirable. You will provide high-quality, individualised care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, ensuring safe and effective outcomes for patients.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver excellent nursing care with compassion, respect, and professionalism
  • Collaborate with a specialised multidisciplinary team including allied health, medical specialists, and support staff
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
  • Maintain thorough, accurate clinical documentation
  • Actively contribute to a safe, positive, and inclusive workplace culture
  • Follow through on responsibilities proactively, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard


You’ll be supported through tailored orientation and training, including online modules and supernumerary time, access to ongoing professional development, a supportive Nursing Unit Manager and Education Team, and opportunities for growth within the Hunter New England Local Health District.

You are someone who:
Holds current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse (medication endorsed where applicable)
Brings recent clinical experience, preferably in a general or medical ward
Demonstrates person-centred, evidence-based practice
Works collaboratively, respects diversity, and communicates sensitively
Takes ownership of your role – you follow through, are proactive, and ensure no task is left unfinished
