Remuneration: $127,150 – $144,444 + 12% Superannuation + Salary Packaging

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation of innovative pilot projects aimed at improving integrated crisis responses to Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) across the Hunter New England Local Health District.
About the Role
This role forms part of the Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) team and will work closely with the Medical Director – Sexual Assault, Domestic and Family Violence, the District Manager for VAN, and a dedicated team of nurses, social workers and Aboriginal staff. You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering district-wide initiatives designed to enhance frontline DFV services.
Key pilot projects you’ll lead include:
- A forensic response to DFV to patients presenting to Tamworth Emergency Department and other referral pathways
- District-wide improvements in DFV risk assessment and safety planning
- Implementation of an After Hours Virtual VAN Crisis Service at Muswellbrook and Quirindi Hospitals
A typical week will include stakeholder engagement, project planning and implementation, evaluation activities, and operational support for staff involved in the pilots. You will also assist with designing and managing roles required to deliver these new services.
Site Negotiable
The position is site negotiable and can be based anywhere within HNELHD. Preferred location will be discussed with shortlisted candidates during the interview process.

- Leadership and operational management
- Stakeholder engagement and negotiation
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in partnership with Aboriginal staff, communities, and services
- Advanced knowledge and skills working in the violence, abuse and neglect field

Additional Information:
To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia.
