Where you'll be working:

Step into a role where every day brings the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young families. The Family Care Cottage (FCC) in Tamworth, NSW, is a free and confidential community health service dedicated to supporting parents and children aged 0–3 years through those precious but sometimes challenging early years.

Tamworth is more than just a place to work – it’s a thriving regional city where rural charm meets urban convenience, set against stunning tree-covered mountains. With its warm community spirit, vibrant culture, and enviable lifestyle, Tamworth offers the perfect backdrop to grow both your career and your personal life.

At FCC, you’ll join a passionate team of Child and Family Health Nurses and a Social Worker delivering a dynamic mix of “day stay” clinics and outreach services. Together, we provide tailored guidance, counselling, and education that truly transforms the lives of families during their most formative years.

About the role:

This is your opportunity to step into a pivotal role where your expertise can shape the health, confidence, and resilience of young families. As a Child and Family Health Nurse, you’ll be the trusted source of knowledge, reassurance, and practical strategies on everything from infant feeding and sleep to toddler behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

You’ll triage referrals from diverse sources, ensuring families receive the right care at the right time. In this collaborative and forward-thinking environment, you’ll work hand-in-hand with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to deliver holistic, person-centred care that uplifts, supports, and inspires.

About you:

You’re not just a nurse – you’re a passionate advocate for families. You have the skills, empathy, and drive to empower parents, foster strong parent-infant bonds, and help children thrive from the very start.

You’ll bring:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that build trust and connection
  • The ability to work seamlessly with internal teams and external partners
  • Confidence in supporting families with complex needs and diverse backgrounds
  • A proactive, compassionate, and family-centred approach in everything you do

Requirements:

  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with AHPRA

  • Proof of Post-Graduate Qualifications and experience in Child and Family Health Nursing (or willingness to pursue).
