John Hunter Hospital is seeking reliable and flexible Casual Medical Administration Officers to support all wards and outpatient service areas within Medical and Interventional Services. This role is critical to maintaining the smooth functioning of wards and outpatient departments, especially during periods when regular staff are on leave.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage patient movement and chart handling in all Medicine wards.
Greet and assist patient families, respond to phone enquiries, and provide support to clinical and nursing staff.
Coordinate ordering and management of stock supplies.
Support AFM (Automated File Management) and Wasp systems operations.
Provide coverage in outpatient areas including the Infusion Lounge, Diagnostic Centre, Sexual Health, and Endoscopy, managing patient appointments, referrals, and phone enquiries.
Assist with typing and administrative tasks during periods of understaffing.
About You
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.
Flexibility to work across various hospital departments as needed.
Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is advantageous.
