About the Role
We are seeking an organised and adaptable Administration Officer to join our small, close-knit team supporting the Department of Geriatric Medicine. This is a varied role where no two days are the same - from booking clinics and confirming patients to liaising with doctors and producing accurate correspondence.
Working as part of a team of four (including the Team Leader and Head of Department), you will be the go-to administrative support for our staff specialists and allied team members.

- Liaise effectively with doctors, patients and fellow administrative staff
- Transcribe reports and create accurate documentation in a timely manner
- Navigate internal systems to support the day-to-day running of the service

Essential skills and attributes:
- Fast and accurate typing, with experience in data collection, report transcription and correspondence
- Knowledge of medical terminology (or ability to learn)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks independently
- Competence with Microsoft Office Suite and capacity to learn new systems
Why Join Us?
- Supportive and approachable leadership, with on-site guidance and training provided
- Work in a small, easy-going team that values quality work and collaboration
- Enjoy a central Newcastle location with convenient parking and no big-hospital traffic hassles
- Flexibility in work patterns to help balance your life and career
