About Our Role:

Join the General Medicine Department at John Hunter Hospital, located within the Medical & Interventional Services division, the General Medicine Department offers the opportunity to work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team comprising administration staff, doctors, and nurses.

  • In this dynamic role, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Typing of clinical correspondence and documentation
  • Managing incoming telephone inquiries and providing timely assistance
  • Maintaining and handling digital medical records with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Coordinating clinic bookings and appointment scheduling
  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations
  • Organising room bookings for meetings and clinical activities
  • Assisting with Grand Rounds, including the preparation of promotional flyers and coordination with presenters
  • Distributing the General Medicine and On-Call Rosters to relevant stakeholders
  • Circulating schedules and materials for Advanced Trainee Education Sessions

As part of your onboarding, you will receive hands-on training from experienced administrative staff within the General Medicine Unit, along with access to a range of online learning modules through My Health Learning.
