About the Opportunity
The Senior Education Manager, Aboriginal Cultural Capability leads the design, development, and continuous improvement of NSW Health's Respecting the Difference program and other cultural safety education initiatives. This role ensures that education and training content is culturally safe, evidence-informed, and aligned with NSW Health's strategic priorities.
Working within the Centre of Expertise in the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI), the Senior Education Manager brings deep cultural expertise and advanced educational leadership to design, deliver and evaluate high-quality programs. This role supports the Associate Director in implementing statewide cultural capability initiatives with a focus on curriculum design, adult learning principles, and quality assurance. You will lead the development of culturally safe, evidence informed education and training that strengthens Aboriginal cultural capability and responsiveness across NSW Health, while ensuring local relevance in program delivery.

Essential Requirements
This is an identified Aboriginal position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and be accepted as such in their local community. Selection Criteria
- This is an identified Aboriginal Position. Applicants must be a person of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. An applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 14 of the Antidiscrimination Act 1977 NSW. Please include information about your Aboriginal Australian / Torres Strait Islander identity.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, cultural capability, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated relevant experience with expertise in curriculum design, instructional methodology, and program evaluation. Experience in the healthcare sector is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and developing culturally safe education programs, with a strong understanding of Aboriginal cultural protocols, community priorities, and adult learning principles.
- Proven ability to lead the development and continuous improvement of training content that aligns with strategic workforce priorities and supports cultural safety across a complex health system.
- Strong experience in engaging Aboriginal stakeholders and knowledge holders in co-design processes that uphold cultural integrity and self-determination.
- Demonstrated ability to implement evaluation and quality assurance frameworks that measure cultural safety outcomes and inform program refinement
