The Opportunity

In this role you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients in our hospital. Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Co-ordinate the teams responsible for end-to-end food service delivery and monitor workflows and assist Supervisor.
  • Provide support, supervision, advice, and training to Food Services Assistant (FSA) staff. 
  • Engage and communicate with relevant stakeholders such as patients, carers and/or clinical staff to ensure meal ordering protocols are entered into the Menu Management System (MMS). 
  • Generate reports from the MMS, contact patients, update information and distribute relevant information to staff as required to ensure an efficient meal service. 
  • Assist patients to make suitable daily meal choices under the guidance and in conjunction with support from Allied Health staff, where appropriate.
  • Assist with assembly, delivery, and collection of patient meals, using appropriate technology devices when required.
  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, infection prevention and control adhere to relevant service and quality guidelines, standards, policies, procedures, and legislations.

Eligibility Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a food service environment with knowledge of food safety and work health & safety principles and procedures with sound time management and organisational skills, working in a fast paced, customer focused environment.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of staff with the ability to resolve conflict, problem solve and work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills in the use of electronic devices and ability to apply relevant technology to complete work tasks.
