What you'll be doing

  • Coordinate and be responsible for the planning, organisation, implementation and evaluation of the activities’ programs within the Mental Health Inpatient services in the Broken Hill Health Service, including the Mental Health In-Patient Unit (MHIPU) and Mental Health Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre (MHPARC). 

  • Utilising both individual and group activities, with the aim of maintaining or improving consumers abilities, promoting independence and wellbeing.

How to apply  
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Relevant qualification as a Recreational Therapist with eligibility for membership of Recreational Therapists Australia.
  • Experience and/or an understanding of contemporary mental health issues including trauma informed care.
  • Recent diversional therapy experience, including organising and time tabling of activities.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills and utilisation of communication technology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention and control standard precautions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
