About the Far West LHD
The Far West Local Health District is one of 15 LHDs under NSW Health, providing high quality public health services to the communities in far west NSW. How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
- Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 designates a registered nurse appointed to a position endorsed by a public hospital or health organization. This individual must have a minimum of 5 years of full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least 3 years of full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field. Additionally, the employee must hold approved postgraduate nursing qualifications relevant to the Violence, Abuse and Neglect field, or possess qualifications or experience deemed suitable by the employing organisation. The incumbent must or would need to be willing to possess approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications directly relevant to their role as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE
- Demonstrated ability to apply expert clinical knowledge to provide safe, high quality, trauma-informed care that is culturally responsive.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in client consultancy with the ability and willingness to work autonomously, accept responsibility and use critical thinking skills to develop solutions for complex clinical care needs.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills, including staff supervision and mentoring; participation and/or leadership roles in state-wide or specialty-wide clinical practice; leadership in clinical practice at a service level and/or district level.
- Demonstrated experience in initiating, participating in, and conducting research, coupled with skills in identifying clinical educational needs, delivering educational programs and resources, and providing clinical advice and consultancy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills which enable collaborative care with colleagues and other health and non-health professionals.
- Demonstrated commitment to and experience in service development and quality improvement including the capacity to initiate change and negotiate support from key stakeholders and coordinate clinical audit activities.
- Evidence of current unrestricted NSW drivers licence and a willingness to provide outreach throughout the Far West LHD and have the willingness to drive long distances with the occasional over night stay.
