Selection Criteria
- To be a person of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander decent. Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section14(d) of the Anti-discrimination Act 1977.
- Relevant qualifications/experience as per Award Classification – Social Work level 4: A bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Association of Social Workers, and knowledge,, skills and experience to meet the requirements of the NSW Health Professionals Award Level 2. Counsellor, Level 4: A Bachelor degree in Social Science, Social Welfare or Counselling, and knowledge, skills and experience to meet the requirements of the NSW Health Professional Award level 2. Occupational Therapist, Level 4: A Bachelor or post graduate degree in Occupational Therapy with current registration with AHPRA and knowledge, skills and experience to meet the requirements of the NSW Health Professionals Award level 2. Senior Psychologist; must have the equivalent of at least 9 years full time experience as a psychologist and general registration with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mental health issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with experience in mental health and /or social emotional spiritual wellbeing of Aboriginal people and their communities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality, safe and connected care to consumers and their families in a person centred and holistic manner that promotes self-determination and in context of the principles of mental health rehabilitation, recovery framework and a strength based approach.
- Demonstrated high level negotiation, communication and facilitation skills including delivering education and presentation to staff and manger .
- Experience in Case Management and developing and reviewing client centred support plans.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role required. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
