CCLHD is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to provide high-quality, evidence-informed care within our interdisciplinary RAID-ED team in the Emergency Department.

This recruitment is for the physiotherapy position within the CCLHD RAID-ED model. This is a 6-month interdisciplinary team pilot service that will include a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist and a Social Worker. This team will work in Gosford Hospital Emergency Department Monday-Friday targeting ED presentations related to functional decline, mobility limitations, or psychosocial factors. The goal of this service is to deliver early assessment, rapid intervention and coordinated discharge planning from the point of triage.

CCLHD already has established Allied Health services within ED, including Primary Contact Physiotherapy and Social Work, which provide timely, discipline-specific assessment and intervention for defined patient groups (e.g. musculoskeletal presentations and high-risk psychosocial needs). Importantly, this is not a replacement model — it is additive and complementary. Primary contact Physiotherapy and Social Work continue to deliver discipline-specific expertise, while RAID-ED focuses on complex patients requiring coordinated, whole-of-function assessment and rapid discharge planning.

About the Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality, evidence-informed physiotherapy services to children and their families/carers across a variety of clinical settings, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Exercise independent professional judgement in managing complex cases, contribute to innovative and best practice models of care, and support the continuous improvement of service delivery.

  • Provide clinical leadership, including supervision and mentoring of Level 1/2 Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and students, and active participation in education, quality improvement and professional development initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on health outcomes while contributing to a supportive, forward-thinking team within CCLHD.
