What you'll be doing
Rehab2Kids provides inpatient, outpatient and day Rehabilitation Services as well as offering a consultative service to other SCH Departments. These services include; Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy and Movement Disorders, (including Botulinum Toxin Services), Limb Management, Spinal Dysraphism and Spinal Cord Injury Service.
The primary purpose of the Administration Officer Level 3 position is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the large multidisciplinary team. Rehab2Kids team are made up of Staff Specialists, Junior Medical Officers, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.
This Level 3 Administration Officers works in a team of three full time Administration Officers, who work cohesively to complete tasks. This high functioning busy admin team supports clinicians in the day to day patient related, reception, clerical and secretarial duties including first line telephone communication, patient reception and enquiries, appointment bookings, handling medical records, registering and checking-in patients, maintaining stationery/equipment supplies, Medicare billing and high volumes of medical typing.
- Experience in customer service environments managing telephone and face to face enquiries, with the ability to interact with children and their families
- Demonstrated experience with transcription typing equipment, preferably with an accurate minimum typing speed of 60wpm
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team as well as independently, with limited supervision.
- Proven high-level organisational skills including the ability to effectively prioritise workload, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities and problem solve.
- Proficiency in computer skills with using PC based software including Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook), Patient Management, and electronic medical records
- Demonstrated previous experience in providing high level administrative support preferably within a healthcare setting.
