About the Role
We’re seeking casual Switchboard Operators to join our team at Gosford Hospital. In this critical role, you’ll support communications across all CCLHD sites, including hospitals and community health centres.
Key responsibilities include answering and directing calls, managing internal emergency communications, maintaining on-call rosters, overseeing district-wide paging services, and assisting at main reception and the hospital switchboard.
This 24/7 department requires staff who are reliable, well-spoken, and flexible to work across all shifts—including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. You must be available for four weeks of initial full-time training and able to work various hours based on operational needs.
Experience in healthcare or familiarity with hospital procedures and terminology is highly regarded but not essential. This casual role supports permanent staff by covering planned and unplanned leave.

About You
- You have demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service with a clear, courteous, and professional phone manner.
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- You have proven capacity to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to shifting priorities.
