Join our dynamic team at Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) as a part time, Gosford After Hours Emergency Department (ED) Inpatient Social Worker and be a crucial part of delivering optimal health outcomes and psychosocial care.
About the Role
The position is part of the Gosford Hospital Inpatient Social Work team based at Gosford Hospital that provides a professional social work service to patients and their family/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients consistent with CCLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. This position will work alongside the multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality care in a dynamic team environment.
Working from a trauma informed, person centred and culturally responsive Social Work response, the Senior Clinician provides psycho-social assessment, crisis and brief intervention, counselling, liaison, advocacy, case planning and referral working alongside patients and their families/carers as they respond to and work through their emotional response to the impact of illness, crisis and/or trauma. The Senior Clinician will work with the multidisciplinary team, senior managers, internal and external service partners and other inpatient social workers to ensure the delivery of effective and proactive social work services and psychosocial care.
With an understanding of the psychosocial challenges that accompany the experience of crisis. trauma and/or chronic/acute illness, you'll provide comprehensive assessments, crisis management, and brief interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual and their support network. Your ability to adapt communication styles, work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, and prioritize competing demands will ensure the delivery of high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
The position available is 24.5 hours per week (49hours per fortnight) working Thursday 1600-2200, Friday 1600-2200, Saturday 1600-2200, Sunday 0800-1630.

About You
You have:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number). A demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to Inpatient Social Work. A current valid Australian Driver's License.
- A well-developed understanding of the psychosocial issues that arise for patients and their families during chronic and acute illness and trauma. Preferably demonstrated social work experience in the clinical specialty area where applicable.
- Demonstrated experience in providing psychosocial assessment and crisis management, within person centred, trauma informed and brief intervention models and preferably within a health clinical setting and or within the clinical specialty where applicable.
