This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks’ notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse on our surgical ward, you'll be part of a highly collaborative, patient-focused team caring for people recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures.
You will:
- Deliver high-quality post-operative care in a fast-paced acute setting.
- Work alongside surgeons, allied health, and support services to ensure safe, coordinated care.
- Be supported with regular in-service education and opportunities for ongoing clinical training.
- Have access to flexible shift options — including 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts — to suit your lifestyle and support work-life balance.
- After gaining experience and completing further training, you may be eligible to progress into Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) roles as part of our professional development pathway.

About You
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Recent clinical experience in a surgical nursing environment, with a demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and ongoing professional development.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and IT skills relevant to clinical practice.
