This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Acute Mental Health Services team on the beautiful Central Coast for a temporary full-time maternity leave vacancy. This pivotal role will allow you to contribute to the professional development of mental health clinicians, ensuring high standards of care and the continued safety of patients across our Acute Mental Health Services.
As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will play a critical role in the development and delivery of educational programs for mental health clinicians within the Acute Mental Health Services. Your key responsibilities will include assisting with program and curriculum development, delivering clinical teaching in both the classroom and clinical settings, and ensuring the ongoing professional development of nursing staff. You will also contribute to the implementation of clinical pathways and safety initiatives, including the Towards Zero Suicide initiatives, while fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Additionally, you will provide support and guidance to clinicians across various teams, including the ED Mental Health Team, PACER, Acute Care Team, and SPOT, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care.
About You
- You have a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- You have relevant education or clinical post-registration qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, or equivalent experience. (You should have either formal education in mental health nursing or substantial clinical experience in the field, which is recognised by the Local Health District as equivalent.)
- You have a current Australian Drivers' Licence, and willingness to travel between different sites within the Central Coast Local Health District.
