Remuneration: $58.95 - $60.86 per hour
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

What you'll be doing 
As an Occupational Therapist Level 3, you will provide advanced clinical services across acute and rehabilitation mental health streams at Cumberland Hospital. You will use your specialist skills to lead recovery-focused interventions, supervise staff and students, and contribute to service improvement across WSLHD Mental Health Services.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-level OT assessments, interventions and group programs within a recovery framework

  • Manage a complex caseload using independent clinical judgement while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

  • Provide expert consultation for discharge planning and community transition

  • Lead and participate in quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice initiatives

  • Coordinate and supervise OT students and support skill development across the team

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA) 

  • Registration: Current General registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA) 

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board, AHPRA.

  2. Evidence of advanced clinical skills and significant experience working as an occupational therapist conducting mental health functional assessments and developing therapeutic care plans to address these needs.

  3. Evidence of advanced clinical skills and significant experience working as an occupational therapist in partnership with mental health consumers, to develop, implement and evaluate group and individual mental health recovery based programs that facilitate functional skills development, clinical improvement, quality of life and self-management of disability.

  4. Evidence of experience to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes. and/or research focused on patient/consumer outcomes.

  5. Demonstrated high level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills in a multidisciplinary team and within the Occupational Therapy department. Computer competence and ability to use electronic medical records, word processing and databases.

  6. Demonstrated experience in implementing education programs, and providing clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff and students.

  7. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical and administrative demands.

  8. Current NSW Driver’s License and willingness to use for work purposes.
