What you'll be doing
The Clinical Support Officer (CSO) plays a vital ward/unit-based role, assisting nurses, doctors, and allied health staff by providing key administrative and transactional support tailored to the specific needs of the health facility. Other responsibilities include:

  • Supporting ward/unit operations through accurate data entry and reporting
  • Assisting with rostering, recruitment, leave, payroll and staff credentialing
  • Managing equipment and medical supply stock levels and maintenance tasks
  • Participating in patient-related admin activities and quality reporting
  • Coordinating meeting logistics and supports accreditation processes

Selection Criteria:

  1. Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration
  2. Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
  3. Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software
  4. Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  5. Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment
  6. Experience with computerised rostering systems (HealthRoster).
