About the Opportunity 
Are you a passionate midwife educator ready to make a meaningful impact in high-risk antenatal and gynaecological care?

Join our team in the CC1B Antenatal Unit, a specialised service providing expert care to women across South Western Sydney.

As the Clinical Midwife Educator, you will lead the development and delivery of evidence-based education programs that support clinical best practice and enhance patient outcomes. Working closely with Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurse Consultants, and the management team, you will foster a culture of continuous learning through mentorship, preceptorship, and capability-building initiatives. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring staff at all levels are equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide safe, high-quality care, while also upholding professional standards and modelling the values of NSW Health’s Code of Conduct and Transforming Your Experience framework.

What You'll be Doing
Deliver and evaluate clinical education programs in consultation with Management, Midwifery Educators and Clinical Midwifery Consultants, to support the delivery of clinical best practice, patient service and enhanced patient outcomes.

Where You'll Be Working 
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Midwife or Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate Successfully completed or working towards a tertiary qualification in clinical education and/or clinical training or a current technical qualification in workplace training and assessment.
  2. Please elaborate on how your skills and experiences align with the role requirements and highlight what you will bring to add value to the Antenatal ward.
  3. How have you previously designed and delivered clinical education programs in a high-acuity or specialised maternity setting, and what strategies did you use to ensure they were effective for staff at varying levels of experience?
  4. Can you describe a time when you identified a gap in clinical practice or staff capability and implemented an educational intervention that led to improved patient outcomes or team performance?
