Remuneration: $87,813.00 - $116,824.00 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)
Location: Westmead Hospital (This role may require the successful applicant to work at, or travel to, any location across WSLHD)

What you'll be doing
As an Advanced Clinical Coder, you’ll apply your extensive coding experience to deliver high‑quality, accurate coded data and play a key role in strengthening coding integrity across the district.
 

  • Accurately code inpatient episodes using ICD‑10‑AM, ACS and Solventum Codefinder

  • Apply high‑level judgement when interpreting documentation and assigning codes

  • Mentor and support less experienced coders using approved training and feedback methods

  • Validate DRGs and ensure accuracy in PAS data entry, edit checks and cancer notifications

  • Actively contribute to coding quality audits, education huddles and improvement initiatives

How to Apply
Apply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date.
 

  1. Extensive clinical coding experience (in the current ICD-10-AM version) across a broad range of specialties in a tertiary setting, evidenced to meet the District’s set KPIs of accuracy & throughput.

  2. Demonstrated understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) and Activity Based Funding (ABF).

  3. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills with high level attention to detail.

  4. Proven ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time and resources to meet pre-determined targets and deadlines.

  5. Ability to analyse, abstract, interpret and report information in clinical coding forums.

  6. Enthusiastic attitude and demonstrated ability to work both independently, within a team and be flexible in a changing work environment.

  7. Demonstrated experience using computer applications.
