We are excited to be advertising a rare opportunity to join the WSLHD Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service, which is a small specialist service supporting perinatal women across WSLHD.

What you'll be doing
The Senior Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Clinician plays a vital role in improving outcomes for mothers with complex mental health needs and their infants, through specialist clinical care, leadership, research, education, and service planning. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering expert mental health support to mothers and infants up to 24 months.
- Leading clinical practice, supporting service development and quality care.
- Initiating and applying research to improve perinatal mental health services.
- Planning and delivering education and clinical supervision for staff.
- Guiding strategic service planning and stakeholder collaboration.

Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Post graduate qualification in a clinical health field, such as Social Work and Occupational Therapy or completion of a recognised Master's or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology
Registration: Current Registration: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/ Psychologist/ Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility to be a member of the AASW as a Social Worker
Selection Criteria:
- For CNC Role: Registered Nurse who has at least 5 years full time post registration experience, and approved post registrations nursing qualification (in relevant field) such as perinatal, child, youth and/adult mental health.
- Demonstrated experience in working with parents and families with infants experiencing severe and complex psycho social and psychiatric problems in the perinatal period with demonstrated knowledge of the impact of mental health problems and mental illness on parenting, parent – infant relationships and infant development.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and experience in clinical teaching.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computerised information systems and proven ability to utilise research / quality improvement strategies to effect changes in clinical practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Capacity to act as an independent consultant with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
