Remuneration: $74,317 - $104,336 per annum / $37.48 - $52.62 Per hour + 12% Superannuation

Westmead Hospital offers flexible roles for qualified midwives from 2 shifts per week to full-time across Women’s and Newborn Health. Rotations include antenatal clinics, birth unit and postnatal care, with 8–10 hour shifts and optional nights, and 12-hour Birth Unit shifts by negotiation.

Join a supportive team caring for both routine and complex obstetric cases, with exposure to midwifery-led models of care. New graduates welcome, with future opportunities in Caseload and MAPS programs.

 

What you'll be doing

 

As a Registered Midwife, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based maternity care to women and newborns within a dynamic clinical environment. You will play a key role in supporting positive birth experiences and promoting the health and wellbeing of mothers, babies and families.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Deliver safe, efficient and person-centred midwifery care.

  • Assess patient needs and coordinate referrals to support care requirements.

  • Monitor and respond to changes in maternal or neonatal condition.

  • Support and mentor colleagues and supervise students on clinical placement.

  • Communicate effectively with women and families while advocating for their care needs.

  • Registration: Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife

  4. Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

  5. Commitment to continuing professional development.
