You’ll be joining a workplace where your contribution is visible and appreciated every day.
About the role:
In this role, you’ll be an all-rounder pharmacy technician, involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the pharmacy. A typical day or week might include:
- Stock management: ordering, receiving and rotating stock, checking expiry dates, and making sure wards have what they need
- Dispensing support: preparing medications under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Prepacks and ward packs: making and maintaining prepacked medications and ward stock packs
- Paperwork and systems: managing documentation, filing, and keeping records accurate and up to date
- General support: helping with anything the pharmacists need to keep the service running smoothly
You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the full range of technician tasks and build strong working relationships across the hospital.
Who we're looking for:
Non-negotiables:
- Qualified and experienced Pharmacy Technician (hospital experience highly regarded)
- Able to work independently and also collaboratively within a small team
- Reliable, organised and able to manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
Can be learned on the job:
- Local systems and processes
- Specific hospital procedures and workflows
- Familiarity with particular specialist areas within Singleton Hospital
If you’re proactive, practical and enjoy being the person who “just gets things done”, you’ll fit in well here.
How you'll be supported:
You won’t be left to figure things out on your own. Support includes:
- Structured orientation to the pharmacy, hospital wards and key processes
- Hands-on training days with the current technician (who is going on leave in January) to ensure a smooth handover
- Ongoing day-to-day support from a very supportive pharmacist team
