What you'll be doing
Join the Diabetes Service at Blacktown as a Nurse Practitioner and provide expert, person-centred care to patients with complex needs. This advanced clinical role blends autonomy, leadership and collaboration to improve outcomes and innovate service delivery. Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality, advanced nursing care for diabetes patients
- Autonomously assessing, diagnosing, prescribing and referring as required
- Leading and integrating research into clinical practice
- Supporting transitions between hospital and primary care
- Engaging in peer review, education and continuous improvement

Essential Requirements:
Qualifications: Registered with ADEA as credentialed diabetes educator
Registrations: Registered Nurse (Division 1) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) with endorsement from the Nurses and Midwifery Board Australia to practice as Nurse Practitioner in Diabetes
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated capacity to integrate the principles of clinical governance, quality improvement, and evidence based practice, patient centred care and practice development into the delivery of advanced nursing practice
- Demonstrated capacity to deliver advanced nursing practice in the field of Diabetes management
- Demonstrated excellent leadership, time management and interpersonal abilities with the speciality and the profession.
- Commitment to ongoing professional and educational development of the diabetes team and commitment to own professional development and currency of practice
- Demonstrated effective communication and negotiation skills with demonstrated knowledge of computerised health information system
- Demonstrated accomplishment in clinical research and ability to contribute to a multidisciplinary academic/ research team
