What you'll be doing 
Join the Whole Family Team to deliver in-home, integrated care for families facing mental health, drug and alcohol challenges. You'll collaborate across services to ensure safe, evidence-based interventions for parents and children. Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing integrated Mental Health & Drug/Alcohol assessments
  • Delivering short-term therapy and assertive outreach
  • Working jointly with clinicians to support at-risk families
  • Collaborating with internal & external service providers
  • Promoting best practice and contribute to team development

Essential Requirements:

  • Registration: Demonstrated full registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist OR for Social Workers, eligibility to be a member of the AASW
  • Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker.

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Recognised qualifications in health discipline (Social Work, Nursing, Psychology or Occupational Therapy) together with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for either Nurse, Psychology or Occupational Therapy & extensive clinical experience in mental health.
  2. Proven significant clinical experience and practice in the assessment, management, treatment and service provision within Child & Youth Mental Health Services and/or family interventions and/or Mental Health Services with the ability to demonstrate high level of professional competency including demonstrated ability to deliver broad range of psycho-social mental health treatments to families
  3. Sound understanding of and experience in working within the contemporary principles of family focused integrated treatment including safety planning and risk assessment within the dynamics of intra-familial child abuse and neglect.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of families under stress, particularly related to their mental health and or drug and alcohol related health issues.
  5. Proven effective high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills including significant knowledge and demonstrated experience of medico-legal systems, processes and documentation.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work an independent senior clinician as well as work within a multidisciplinary team with experience in building and sustaining collaborative partnerships with other government and non -government organisations.
  7. Current NSW Drivers Licence -- Class C Unrestricted
