Our Pharmacy Team plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and evidence-based medication therapy as part of their holistic care. SESLHD Pharmacy Services is an extended hours service and our team is operational seven days per-week. 
 
The Role
 
The Lead Pharmacist - Mental Health is a leadership and clinical role. The purpose of the role is to lead, co-ordinate and manage the activities, programs and systems associated with Mental Health Services including Medication Safety and the Quality Use of Medicines, and to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for the defined practice area of Mental Health.
 
The role will work collaboratively at both the site/service level and across the district to maintain leadership and efficient performance and provision of pharmacy services for Mental Health. The role works across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and will be based at Prince of Wales Hospital. 
 
All Lead Pharmacist roles are integral members of the SESLHD pharmacy leadership team to provide strategic, clinical and operational objectives for the pharmacy service. The position will have joint responsibility with other Team Leader and Lead Pharmacist positions, to maintain leadership, management and continuity of service provision of the pharmacy service across all operational hours.

Selection Criteria

  1. Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with post registration clinical or management/leadership qualifications or equivalent skills/experience.
  2. Significant experience and a demonstrated high level of competence, expertise, skill and application of clinical judgment in the provision of mental health clinical pharmacy services.
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated ability to develop high quality written guidelines, procedures, educational, research or business materials.
  4. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including communication, negotiation, team building, influencing, conflict resolution and the building of a positive workplace culture.
  5. Proven ability and commitment to effectively role model, champion and promote teamwork and demonstrated management and development of staff.
  6. Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, problem solving and development and implementation of initiatives.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
