Provide, lead and deliver evidence-based psychological care in palliative settings, supporting patients and families through complex, end-of-life journeys.

Remuneration: $57.30 - $69.84 per hour
Hours Per Week: 16 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)
Location: Blacktown and Mt Druitt Hospitals

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology masters or doctorate. 
     

  • Registration: Current general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and eligibility for endorsement to practice in the area of Clinical Psychology. 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.

  2. Demonstrated skills in working with patients and carers in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing assessment, management planning and delivery of psychological services.

  3. Demonstrated experience in mental health including experience in cognitive-behavioural therapy and other relevant therapeutic techniques (which may include group therapy, ACT, mindfulness techniques, family therapy, and interventions for complex grief, among others).

  4. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience including the ability to communicate in a sensitive and professional manner with patients and staff.

  5. Capacity and maturity to provide education on psychosocial issues for staff

  6. Computer literacy, and adequate quality improvement / research skills.
