 What you'll be doing 
As the Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2, you will take the lead in coordinating ECT services, delivering evidence-based patient care, and driving best practice infection prevention and control initiatives for mental health patients. You’ll also act as a specialist clinical resource and mentor for your colleagues, while ensuring quality patient outcomes.

  • Provide high-level, patient-centred clinical care and leadership in ECT services.
  • Oversee infection prevention and control programs in line with NSQHS Standards.
  • Deliver and coordinate education and support to staff, patients and carers.
  • Manage clinical resources and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional mental health care.

Essential Criteria:

  • License: Current drivers licence
  • Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria: 

  1. Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.
  2. Proven leadership capabilities and commitment in creating a positive workplace culture, with demonstrated commitment to the Values of NSW Health, WSLHD and Cumberland Hospital.
  3. Demonstrated clinical skills that encompass all stages of ECT treatment including assessment, preparation, ECT procedures, recovery and follow up.
  4. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organise a small clinical service, including scheduling, monitoring and evaluating clinical procedures and service delivery.
  5. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical care at an extended role in the physical health care of mental health patients and infection prevention.
  6. Demonstrated high level effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently within an autonomous role, and as part of a multidisciplinary team that is committed to the provision of safe, patient- centred service delivery.
  8. Demonstrated teaching skills encompassing patient and carer education, education of staff and commitment to clinical practice development, quality improvement and research.
