About the opportunity
Orange Hospital Cardiology Service is a collaborative alliance of clinicians, providing outreach services to Bathurst, Parkes, Forbes and Cowra.
Provide contemporary, expert cardiology services that contribute to optimal patient care and outcomes and provide support and training for junior medical staff and other clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
The position is based in Orange Health Service (OHS). The appointment is on a VMO fee for service model. The role is based in OHS and aims to provide support to the pacemaker implantation service roster, to cover annual and conference leave and to supplement the pacing and defibrillator cardiology service.
The position will support the newly commenced pacing and defibrillator service for management of patients across the WNSWLD and must meet CSANZ guidelines for training and maintenance of standards to provide this service in a rural setting.
The quantum of service is approximately 24 cardiac catheter lab days per annum, which is not sufficient to meet CSANZ requirements for maintenance of skills in device implantation, so the successful applicant must have an additional appointment or appointments, sufficient to generate additional case load to satisfy CSANZ criteria.
