The Paediatric Child and Adolescent Safety Paediatrician will lead clinical and strategic responses to child protection across the Western NSW Local Health District. This pivotal role involves working closely with the IVAN Crisis Team, fellow paediatricians, the Sexual Assault Service, and the Joint Child Protection Response Team to deliver integrated, compassionate care for children and adolescents affected by violence and neglect. You’ll be embedded within the Child, Youth and Family Division, surrounded by a dedicated multidisciplinary team that values innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.

To apply, please address the following Selection Criteria

1.     Medical Practitioner registered or able to be registered in Australia, inclusive of an unrestricted or 19AB exempted provider number, and recognised specialist qualifications.

2.     Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Paediatrics and Child Health Division.

3.     Appropriate knowledge and clinical experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in child abuse and neglect including child sexual assault.

4.     Ability to work harmoniously and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and with a wide range of stakeholders, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

5.     Demonstrated understanding of and ability to respond appropriately to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

6.     Demonstrated willingness and ability to lead and provide clinical supervision including the ability to provide education, vision and research would be viewed favourably.

7.     Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and experience in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes, models of care, evidence based practice and practice development.

8.     Valid Driver’s license.
