Senior Physiotherapist
Dubbo Health Service

About the role

This is an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist providing clinical, educational and management expertise to Dubbo Health Service.  You will be a Senior Clinician, predominantly based within the Inpatient Physiotherapy Team.  In this role you will be required to demonstrate advanced reasoning skills in the provision of clinical care, clinical supervision and support for junior colleagues and students, and exercise independent professional judgement in solving problems and managing complex situations.  Your clinical advice and support will also be extended to colleagues in other locations across our Health District.

While primarily based in an acute surgical setting, you will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in the Medical Ward and ICU/CCU, as well as in a range of Orthopaedic Clinics, including Fracture Clinic.

You will be involved in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services to identify, develop and lead quality improvement activities to ensure the delivery of high quality and consistent clinical care.

Why choose this role?

·         Patients who really need your care - Dubbo Health Service is a major rural referral centre in Western NSW LHD, providing care for patients from an extremely large geographical area and without access to services widely available for most of the population elsewhere in NSW.  Care provided in Dubbo Hospital is often the foundation of patient recovery, with plans formulated at Dubbo following them as they return home.

·         Collaborative team - You will share your skills and expertise with a strong physiotherapy team and more widely with a well-integrated multidisciplinary team who respect and appreciate your expertise.

·         Hospital facilities - With Dubbo Hospital recently redeveloped most wards and clinics are bright and clinician-designed, with easy access to other services and teams.

·         Training and access to scholarships - Access to study leave and more scholarships than Metropolitan areas, and we encourage you to pursue education in your approved interest areas.

·         Incentives - $10,000 recruitment incentive and $5,000 retention incentive after 12 months service.

·         Dubbo!  Dubbo is affordable, has a friendly social scene, shopping, cafés, loads of team sports, movies, theatre, concerts, large dam for water sports and outback national parks just waiting to be explored.  There are direct flights to Sydney / Brisbane / Melbourne.  You will be very welcome here.

Choosing this Senior Physiotherapist role, either for a few years to fast-track your career, or as a longer-term change, is a great move.
