Senior Clinician – Rural Health Counsellor Towards Zero Suicides Initiative
Mental Health Drug & Alcohol

About the role
The Towards Zero Suicides (TZS) Initiative is focused on delivering leading best-practice crisis care and support, strengthening community resilience, and improving systems and services to reduce suicide deaths across NSW.

As part of this important program, the Rural Counselling Service provides short-term counselling and mental health support to adults aged 18 years and over. The service delivers brief interventions of up to eight (8) sessions for people experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including situational crises, anxiety, depression, emotional distress, and recent thoughts of suicide. The service supports individuals who are not currently engaged with a Community Mental Health Team and provides timely, person-centred care to help people navigate difficult periods in their lives.

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in regional communities by providing counselling and mental health support across Parkes, Forbes and Condobolin. Travel is required as part of the role to ensure accessible services are delivered where they are needed most.

If you are passionate about supporting mental health, committed to delivering high-quality care, and want to contribute to a significant suicide prevention initiative, we encourage you to apply and join us in supporting communities across NSW on the journey towards zero suicides.
