About the role
In this role you will provide specialist haematology nursing support for patients undergoing treatment for haematologic malignancies. The role supports the current Haematology CNS2 and offers tailored patient education, clinical coordination, and assistance with procedures, with the aim of transitioning into a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role through provided training.
This role is part of the haematology team, including consultants, advanced trainees, the Haem CNS2, pharmacy as well as the inpatient HOPS (Haematology, oncology and Palliative) team. You will be part of a team providing high level complex care coordination to our patients. As well as providing tailored education to haematology patients, particularly those with low-grade haematologic malignancies, on chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and related treatments.
In this position you will also offer supportive care and follow-up for patients with low-grade haematologic malignancies, ensuring continuity of care. Liaise and coordinate outpatient clinic appointments and treatment for rural patients attending clinics in Bathurst, Cowra, and Parkes. Provide assistance and coverage for the current Haematology CNS2, supporting continuity of service and patient care
